Boy you talk about a neat little roadster that is quick and a blast to drive, you need to check out the new 2009 Saturn Sky Redline. Every bit as neat as a Z4 BMW and half the price. The built in head rests remind me of the old 1963 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster. There are a lot of neat little roadsters our right now but this Saturn Sky would definitely be my choice of the affordables. Sure everybody would probably like to have a SLR McLaren Mercedes but most of us don’t have that kind of money. The 2009 Sky comes in two different models. There is the regular Sky and then there is the Sky Redline. The regular Sky is nicely equipped and comes with a 2.4 liter DOHC 16 valve four cylinder that is naturally aspirated and produces 173 horsepower. It is quick and fun to drive but the real kick is the Redline. It is a 2.0 liter DOHC 16 valve four cylinder that is turbocharged and produces 260 horsepower. It is a little screamer and does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Believe me that is pretty quick. Both engines are hooked to a five speed manual transmission, There is an electronically controlled five speed automatic but who wants an automatic in a sports roadster. It is a true rear wheel drive with near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. It drives and handles great and is a real head turner going down the road. The new Sky has StabiliTrak, Traction Control, and four wheel ABS brakes and four wheel discs. The suspension system on the Sky is four wheel independent short/long arm suspension with Bilstein coil over monotube shocks. This system optimizes ride quality, handling, and cornering all while isolating road noise. The 2009 Saturn Sky Redline does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. This is pretty quick and it still gets 28 miles per gallon on the road. It has 18″ polished alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 W rated high performance tires. It has all the air bags and crumple zones and energy absorbing steering column. The side impact door beams are reinforced for your safety. As with most of the new General Motors products the Sky comes with OnStar and a paid for one year subscription to all the things OnStar does. I have never had OnStar but I can imagine that after you have had it for a year, it would be hard to do without. There is also a 225 watt Monsoon stereo Audio System that rocks out pretty good. The premium leather seats are pretty cool with black outsides and color coded insets. The windscreen betwen the headrests is nice and cuts down on the noise. The Sky comes in 9 cool colors for the exterior and 3 colors of leather for the interior for the Sky Redline. On he regular Sky you get a black cloth interior unless you upgrade to the leather. You have the choice of a black or tan convertible top. My favorite would be the Sunburst Yellow with black and yellow leather seats and a black convertible top. All Saturns come with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty . MSRP runs from the high twenties to the low thirties depending on model and extras, Category:Home › Autos • Will the trend toward economy-size car models lead Americans back to buying smaller-sized cars? — part 2 • You should never use after-market auto parts when maintaining or fixing your car • Should a new car be rust-proofed? • Will the trend toward economy-size car models lead Americans back to buying smaller-sized cars? — part 1 • Five safest cars in North America • How to ensure your teen drives safely after getting a license • Pros and cons of using an hydrogen generator for your car • DIY automotive maintenance: How to change the oil
